The Investor Event on the 8th February 2010 is the culmination of Find Invest Grow’s Winter 2010, Funding Drive launched across the country in November 09. A project that has encouraged young entrepreneurs – students and recent graduates of the past 5 years – across Britain to submit their business ideas, develop their potential companies and ultimately have a chance to pitch for investment at the Investor Event.

On the 8th Feb the finalists will have the opportunity to pitch for investment to a panel of active investors (FIGureheads) who are looking to mentor and fund student and recent graduate start-up businesses.

Students and recent graduates are given the chance to:-
• Pitch their business ideas to some of the UK’s top investors
• And win a £1000 grant to help kick start their company as well as a host of services provided by the event sponsors

THE EVENT

The Investor Event will be held at the acclaimed Idea Generation Gallery in Shoreditch, a venue that has played host to countless highly praised exhibitions and events – from the first UK exhibition of Robert Altmans’s photographs to a 5 year retrospective of the Iraq War. Set across two floors and with 200 square feet of gallery space, the venue serves as the perfect backdrop for what promises to be an amazing event.

The night will commence at 6pm with a drinks reception and canapés for the investors, seed companies, partners and sponsors in the main gallery. From 6:45 the Pitch to Investor section of the evening will commence. Here the 10 finalists will have their chance to pitch to some of the UK’s top investors for the chance to raise seed capital.

From 8pm to 9pm the guests will be able to take in the gallery, mingle and network, try the drinks and canapés on offer and to enjoy Idea Generation’s Nat Finkelstein exhibition – a display and celebration of Finkelstein’s life and work as one of the most respected photojournalists of the 20th century. At the end of the evening Find Invest Grow will announce the winner of the £1000 business grant to be awarded to the most impressive business proposition. Four runners up will also win £500 grants.

8-9PM - GUESTS ARE INVITED TO ENJOY THE EXHIBITION OF PHOTOJOURNALIST AND ACTIVIST NAT FINKELSTEIN

The Funding Drive, Winter 2010 is open to students and graduates of the past 5 years. Proposals submitted on www.findinvestgrow.com must be 80% complete to be considered for this funding drive.
